Vinyl 49: Albert Ayler, Love Cry

Albert Ayler made a couple of strange records, and this is by no means his strangest. No, I not so much into ‘kozmigroove’ and not into his last records. Love Cry sounds strange because Call Cobbs plays harpsichord, and Ayler is ululating as well. Most tunes are well-known and better – or more challengeing – versions can be found on other records. But allright, it’s an Impulse Record. I’ll keep it.

(Hmm, why am I now writing this in English?)
